KUNSTRAUM TESTORF – Gallery for Contemporary Art and Paper Workshop

Anke Meixner's workshop and gallery is located in the heart of the UNESCO Schaalsee Biosphere Reserve. This is where she creates unique works of art out of paper. The extensively renovated residential and stable building of the farm from 1903 is surrounded by a large garden. Guests are always welcome but must make an appointment.

"When I make my paper objects and collages, I also sometimes use Asian plant fibres such as the Japanese kozo, which has long fibres, and is softer and more transparent," paper artist Anke Meixner explains. The graduate designer also passes on her knowledge of traditional paper production in courses for artists and young professionals. Her husband – art historian and photographer Ulrich Rudolph – curates the changing exhibitions of contemporary artists, which can also be seen in Testorf.
