Green and pleasant hills, over 90 lakes, endless forests (e.g. the old forest of Kaarzer Holz) and the Warnow and Mildenitz rivers give the nature park region its unmistakable character.

Sights such as the Gross Raden Archaeological Open Air Museum and the lovingly restored old town of Sternberg are witnesses of the past. The peaceful streets and the renovated town wall make you want to go on tour of the town. Around and about the "state-approved resort" of Sternberg, guests will find plenty of ways to rest, relax and enjoy themselves.
Out and about on cycling and walking trails and wild rivers
It does not matter if you are a walker or cyclist on a signposted tour or if you are a water sports enthusiast exploring the nature park. The tour suggestions of the Tourist Information Bureau are available as leaflets or on the web. Canoeing experience – You can explore the lakes and the Warnow and Mildenitz rivers by canoe. The offers range from "Canoe to go" to a weekend trip.
The best way to end a busy day is to visit one of the many restaurants that offer fish from the local lakes as well as game and other local specialties.

Traditional festival - The countryside is yellow
The Sternberger Lakeland is worth a visit in every season. At the beginning of May, when Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is covered in sweet-smelling rapeseed fields, Sternberg invites you to enjoy a national Rapeseed Blossom Festival.

Kutschenmuseum Kobrow
With more than 200 coaches, wagons and sledges, the collection in Kobrow is one of the richest and most important in Germany. The elegant victorias, coupes, wagonettes, landaus, phaetons and hunting carriages show the great variety of designs. There is also a museum café.

Sternberg, St. Mary and St. Nicholas
Between Schwerin and Güstrow lies the typically Mecklenburg town of Sternberg, whose unusually large town church alone is worth a visit. It owes its size to the Mecklenburg prince Heinrich II, who began systematically rebuilding the town and building the representative church after a town fire in 1309. A year later he made Sternberg his main residence.

Campingplatz Sternberger Seenland (campsite)
In the middle of the Sternberg Lake District Nature Park (Naturpark Sternberger Seenland) is where you will find our campsite in the typical Mecklenburg countryside. Families, dog owners, walkers who like peace and nature or active seniors can find their own way to rest and relax in this lovely campsite. For last-minute travellers, walkers, cyclists or school classes, there are 10 simply furnished overnight huts for 1 to 3 persons.
