Goertz furniture manufacture

Having once been the lifeblood of the proud Hanseatic city, the port of the UNESCO World Heritage Site with its new technology center is the place where history meets the future.
“Because we combine traditional carpentry with the latest production technology, the location perfectly fits in with our furniture manufacture,” says Torsten Goertz.

Before opening his own business in 2016, the carpenter and business economist Torsten Goertz began to build the first pieces of furniture and accessories in his own garage.  Due to their special design, the creations made of solid oak and beech wood appear light, natural and elegant.
 

Thanks to a cooperation project with the University of Wismar, product designer Patricia Hess was introduced to the new business. She has been designing the furniture creations ever since. "We think it is important that we are committed to the local up-and-coming talent ", explains the trained architect Kristina Goertz. “There is enormous creative potential in Wismar and the surrounding area that has to be discovered and supported. That is why you will, in addition to our products, be able to purchase high-quality accessories and jewellery crafted by local designers, which match the companies’ philosophy of sustainable and fair production.”
