Plau am See

The charming little town, with its attractive old part of town, is on the western shore of Lake Plau and the Müritz-Elde waterway.

As far back as 1235 "Plawe" – which means "rafting town" – received its town charter. The old part of town is still dominated by the half-timbered and brick houses of the farmers. Plau am See is also known as the "town of the three towers". The castle tower, church tower and lighthouse offer a fantastic view of the town and Lake Plau.
